Job Summary

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Tokyo office. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for Japan-based positions, partnering closely with hiring managers and business leaders to attract, engage, and hire top talent.

As the primary Talent Acquisition specialist supporting the Japan business, you will serve as a trusted recruitment advisor, providing market insights, sourcing expertise, and strategic hiring support. You will work closely with the CEO and Managing Director of our Japan business while reporting functionally to the Managing Director, Global Talent Acquisition & Development, ensuring alignment between local business priorities and global people strategies.

This is an in-office role based in our Tokyo office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for Japan-based positions, from requisition through onboarding.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, develop recruitment strategies, and deliver high-quality candidate pipelines.

  • Source, screen, and assess candidates through a variety of recruitment channels and networking activities.

  • Conduct candidate interviews in Japanese and English and manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment process.

  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, job boards, and external talent partners.

  • Coordinate interviews, offer processes, and onboarding activities to ensure a positive candidate experience.

  • Track recruitment metrics and provide hiring insights, market intelligence, and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Advise hiring managers on recruitment best practices, market trends, candidate expectations, and talent availability.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance recruitment effectiveness and candidate experience.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of in-house Talent Acquisition or Recruitment experience.

  • Proven experience independently managing the full recruitment lifecycle.

  • Experience recruiting within the Japanese market and working directly with domestic Japanese candidates.

  • Hands-on experience using Japanese recruitment platforms such as DODA, マイナビ転職, en転職, or similar local job boards.

  • Strong understanding of Japanese hiring practices, recruitment channels, and candidate expectations.

  • Near-native Japanese language proficiency with the ability to conduct interviews and communicate effectively with Japanese candidates and stakeholders.

  • Business-level English proficiency.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple hiring projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment technologies.

Preferred

  • Experience recruiting within a multinational or international organization.

  • Experience recruiting for sales, business development, marketing, or corporate functions.

  • Knowledge of employer branding and talent attraction strategies.

  • Strong understanding of talent market trends and workforce planning within Japan.
