Finance & Accounting Specialist

We are looking for someone based in Spain to work remotely, as a Finance & Accounting Specialist for our Linguarama division.

Key Responsibilities

• Journal entries and supplier invoice posting.

• Payroll and freelance accounting.

• Withholding tax (IRPF) management.

• Accounting provisions and intercompany transactions.

• Bank reconciliations and cashbook updates.

• Supplier, employee, and freelance payment processing.

• Marcus Evans & Linguarama invoice submissions.

• Weekly Cash Report preparation.

• Barcelona invoicing preparation and client distribution.

• Invoice review, validation, and import into SAGE.

• Customer payment follow-up and debt collection.

• Weekly Aged Debtors Report.

• Income reports for Madrid and Barcelona.

• Monthly P&L and Latest Debtor List.

• Quarterly VAT, Low-Cost Teachers, and freelance hours reporting.

• Monthly Stat Pack preparation.

• Quarterly VAT (Form 303), payroll (Form 111) and rental (Form 115) returns.

• Agencia Tributaria notifications management.

• Spanish National Statistics (INE) surveys: CIS & EEE.

• Statutory accounting books and annual financial statements for the Spanish Commercial Registry.

• Annual group recharge accounting and Stat Pack for Corporate Income Tax filing.

• Internal and external audit coordination and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience.

• English and Spanish proficiency - Fluent written and spoken.

• SAGE accounting software - Hands-on experience with SAGE is essential. The role involves invoice import, validation, and day-to-day accounting directly within the SAGE environment.

• Spanish tax knowledge - Solid understanding of Spanish tax obligations — VAT (Form 303), payroll withholding (Form 111), and rental withholding (Form 115).

• Financial reporting Experience producing P&L reports, Stat Packs, Aged Debtors, and Cash Reports in a multinational or group-reporting context.
